Artuso Pastry

Artuso founder Vincent F. Artuso, Sr. began his American dream when he migrated to the States from a small town in Southern Italy in 1930. By 1946, his dream became a reality when he proudly opened Artuso Pastry Shop in New York’s famous Little Italy section of the Bronx. Today, Artuso’s remains a family owned and operated New York fixture, enjoying its fourth proud generation. Artuso’s authentic Italian desserts can be found at premium retailers and fine food service establishments nationwide.

In the great tradition of Italian-American family-grown businesses, the Bronx’s Artuso Pastry has become a nationally recognized culinary treasure through dedication and authenticity, one fabulous cannoli at a time.

HOME ECONOMICS

Artuso Pastry is a family-run business dating back to the 1930’s and has found its way into the homes of thousands of other families since.

Being that Artuso is a staple at the dinner table, it was only fitting for the product to be showcased in a home-setting.

AN OLD TRADITION FOR A NEW AGE

Our challenge was to take Artuso’s rich, traditional 75 year history, and tailor it to the digital age—making current customers take notice of Artuso’s updated energy and modern look, while generating a following and appreciation from new ones.

Our solve was to place Artuso Pastry product in the home in moments shared
by friends, family, and loved ones. By using hands, dynamic perspective, and carefully placed props, we were able to tell an emotional story while also displaying the product front and center—furthering the narrative that these delicious products are made by people, not machines.
Props remained specific to those found in the home, where Artuso products are typically enjoyed. The inclusion of hands provided the additional level of the human element. Additionally, styling played a large role—the ripping of a Sfogliatella, a big bite taken out of the rich Tiramisu, a child’s hand reaching for
a party platter of Mini Cannoli—all convey the idea that a lively gathering of people is taking place over an enjoyment of tasty treats.
In addition to their freshly baked goods, Artuso’s also offers frozen products. Meant to be baked in the home—we placed emphasis on this part of the process. Highlighting the “before” stage of an unbaked item being prepped, or unfilled cannoli without cream.
